Our founder team started process development in 2018 and filed our first bioreactor patent. The process and the strains have been progressively refined, and today, our interdisciplinary team has created an optimised bioprocess for high yield productivity. In early 2020 we signed a collaboration agreement with the Institute of Biochemistry and Physiology of Microorganisms which kicked off our bacterial library. In 2021 two academic joint ventures were finalised with our partners at the Technische Universität Wien and BOKU. Today our in house and collaborations partners for applied science sit in Austria, feeding new ideas to the engineering and microbiology teams at their Pre Deployment Plant, ( PDP), established 2022
We currently run two separately designed 400 litre bioreactor technologies , in parallel and in continuous production generating data for the final 5,000 litre bioreactor design, which will both simultaneously prove our scalability and bring on line regular product supply for our off take partners
Our Base Camp Site, ( BCS), is our next step - from 5,000 to proof of a single 50,000 litre reactor and associated downstream processing. Our first Mega site is simply multiple BCS units. We are already in very early discussions with both trapped and biogas supply chains for our first full Circe Mega Site, a 20,000 tonne per year protein production facility
